George Suter 1930 - 2003

George Suter was the son of George "Arthur" Suter and Dorothy Suter and brother of Elizabeth "Su" Suter and Ruth Maitland (who passed away in 1996).

His father Arthur was mayor of Uxbridge and features in the Suters Ltd History and about his role as Mayor at 1959 - THE MAYOR AND MAYORESS OF UXBRIDGE

He went to school at St Pauls in London, the same school as his "Uncle" John Suter and cousins Dick and Robert.

He was the only male member of the Suter family not to be involved in the family business of Suters Ltd

He was a farmer, first of all farming near Brackley in Northants and then at Hughenden Valley near High Wycombe, Bucks.

He served as a District Councillor for the Hughenden Valley ward at Wycombe District Council for a number of years.

In April 1988 The Bucks Free Press had a page devoted to George and his plans to convert his farm - Church Farm in Hughenden Valley, near High Wycombe, Bucks into a golf course. PDF Copied version here

Planning was never granted and in the end planning was granted for the conversion of the farm buildings into houses, now known as Church Farm.

George Suter was a great cricket fan and was a member of Middlexex County Cricket Club and the MCC - Marylebone Cricket Club and used to regularly attend matches at Lords.
